Children’s Forest School Workshops

We’re excited to offer children’s forest skills workshops in August 2023 during the school holidays for children aged 8 to 12 years.

Workshop Dates: August 7th, 9th and 11th 2023

Times: 10:30am to 2:30pm

Cost: £20 per day (FREE for children who are eligible for free school meals)

Bushcraft Activities include:

Fire Lighting Skills | Preparing Food | Cooking on the Fire | Den & Shelter Building | Herbal Plant ID | Foraging Herbs | Knots & Lashings | Whittling | Woodcrafts

Art & Craft Activities include:
Willow Weaving | Clay Modelling | Hapa Zome Printing | Textile Crafts | Wet Felting | Making Natural Paints | Woodcrafts | Jewellery Making | Painting & Drawing

Our forest school crafts will be taught by Susie, our qualified Forest School Leader and Charlie, a qualified Montessori Teacher.

The following activities will also be on offer:

Nature Identification | Child-led Sensory Play | Active Group Games | Mud Kitchen | Group Time at Basecamp

Structure of the day:

10:30: Arrival and meet at base camp

10:40: Opening Circle – Introductions, what’s on offer today, who to speak to if you need help or are upset or worried, drink and snack

10:50: Crafts Workshops

12:30: Lunch

1:00: Crafts Workshops

2:00: Active Outdoor Games

2:15: Closing Circle at base camp

2:30: Parents/carers collect children at the gate

Forest school crafts will be taught each day during the Craft Workshop. Once children finish their craft, there will be social, child-led play activities and games available.

Our workshops build children’s confidence, self-reliance and self-esteem, by learning new skills, developing skills and building their independence. Our workshops are fully outdoors for the duration.
