Charcoal Burn

Come and join us for our traditional charcoal burn.
All our charcoal is made locally from hardwood trees. These trees readily re-grow from the stump when they are cut down. This is called coppicing, a tradtional form of woodland management. The Dean Heritage Centre is one of the only places in the country to make charcoal using the traditional turf and earth kiln method.
